William Balderson
Owner & Tuner
I am William Balderson. I'm a hardcore miata lover, and a turbocharged vehicle nerd. I love seeing other peoples project cars come to life and be what they dream of just as I do mine. I take pride in my tuning and put longevity and reliability first. When someone trusts me with their project car, I tune it like its my own car.
Where I Started
"toooner"
I've been a miata lover since I got my first clapped red na miata at sixteen years old. Like most miata fanboys, I watched TOO much haggard garage, ricer miata, and Greg peters on YouTube, and it planted the seed of a turbo miata in my head. When my family moved to Florida I had to get rid of my first car and a I was miata-less for a few years. After I graduated I got another clapped Na off of Craigslist and this time it was blue. The same week I bought the cheapest eBay turbo kit known to man. I will never forget going on the first few drives, no exhaust at all, 7psi and so blissfully ignorant I was about how slow, unsafe, and bad my setup was. And then it somehow went to h2oi and back.

My first standalone
After I got back from h2oi I got sick of people asking if I had a tdi swap. I wanted to make more horsepower and not melt anything. I bought a used diyautotune miata ecu on eBay. I had zero tuning knowledge, and I tried asking for a tune from some local shops in Florida. The cheapest quote I got was $1600 with no guarantee that my car would even start. My older brother Johnny worked at Honda in Daytona and his co worker Danny Prez was huge into tuning Mitsubishi Evos. I drove to his house on the stock ecu and he put a tune on my megasquirt that was just the bare bones to run. He did me the biggest favor by enabling me to have to learn how to tune myself. For months I was making small improvements to my car making it better and better learning how to tune till my friend chino asked on Instagram "who can tune my car" I replied "I can" as a joke but then a few months later I found myself in Maryland tuning his speedyefi eBay turbo disaster. and now his car is one of the fastest bp powered streetcars on the east coast trapping 127mph in the 1/4 . And for my car pictured to the left well, it got the unhappy ending. After building the 1.6 and dynoing 250whp 246wtq at 15psi I drove a lot of drift events and the car was at that point to let it go. I regretfully sold it along with my first standalone but I keep all the knowledge of tuning and repairing in my mind and memories with my friends and my brother in my heart forever .
Why Do I Do This?

The reason I offer tuning services is to help people that were in the same situation I was when I was 17. You should not have to spend 6 months of your busy life learning how to tune if you don't want to. I want there to be an option for people to get their project car running safely. For a fair price, by someone who has lived with a turbo miata for half a decade. Its one thing to read up on how VE tables work and take a class at Horse Power Academy and say your a "pro E tuner" its another to actually have owned these cars and had the same passion, have driven them hard as others who own them. I want to keep pushing myself as an efi calibrator and explore new platforms and ecus as the opportunities arise.
